Children & Adolescents

While my general approach for adults informs my work with children and families, I often adapt my methods to better meet the unique needs of younger clients. My years of experience in providing family therapy and individual work with children and adolescents have given me a deep understanding of family dynamics and the challenges that often arise for children and teenagers, allowing me to create a supportive and engaging therapeutic environment.

01

The Therapeutic Relationship

Some children eagerly embrace therapy, but many are hesitant or resistant at first. Research highlights that a strong therapist-client relationship is key to progress. My priority is to build trust with your child so they feel comfortable, motivated, and engaged. Over time, this foundation helps them work toward meaningful goals and build internal motivation to grow.

02

Tangible Goals, Practical Skills

Mental health challenges can create real obstacles in a child’s day-to-day life, making even simple tasks feel daunting. Therapy is a space to develop specific skills and strategies that help children overcome these hurdles and achieve practical, tangible goals. By fostering confidence and resilience, I help children and caregivers build a stronger sense of control and hope.

Parent Support

There's no parenting guide that's perfectly written for your child, so let's create one together. I collaborate with parents to develop individualized strategies tailored to your family’s needs. Whether managing challenging behaviors, improving communication, or supporting emotional growth, I’ll help you find approaches that work for your family.
